About Hamilton City FFA

The Hamilton City FFA Chapter is located in the Superior region and is known as the program of choice in Glenn County.  Hamilton is a school that prides itself in academics, activities, athletics, and agriculture.

Areas of instruction in agriculture include Introduction to Ag Mechanics, ROP Ag Mechanics, Introduction to Ag, Ag Biology, Environmental Horticulture or Plant Science, Floral Design, and Agribusiness, and Animal Science. Located on the school site is the student farm which features a hog barn, lamb barn, cattle facility, show barn, greenhouse, mandarin orchard, high-density olives, and garden area.

Projects on campus have consisted of welding anything from trailers and BBQ’s to growing plants for the fall and spring plant sale and native trees for restoration projects.  Hamilton City FFA students exhibit at the Glenn County Fair with approximately 45 hogs, 20 sheep, goats, steers, dairy cattle, and rabbits or chickens.  In order to exhibit at the fair, students are required to attend FFA meetings each month and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Active members are able to earn proficiency awards and FFA honors such as the Greenhand, Chapter, State, and American FFA Degree.  Each degree is based on hours of agricultural education, hours worked on agricultural projects, and money earned.

FFA is an integral part of vocational education.  Join Hamilton City FFA to gain valuable leadership skills and be a member of the largest youth organization in high school.
